Conclusion Questions
1. In as much detail as possible record the steps it took to create this project in photoshop. Use complete sentences.
I started by choosing images that could symbolize something about who I am as a person. I added the images to photoshop and arranged, blended, clipped, and more. I rearranged everything until I thought everything was well integrated.
2. Define the terms as they relate to Photoshop: Blend modes, layer masks and adjustment layers. Give an example of how you used each of these in your identity collage.
Blend Modes help different layers interact with each other. In my collage, I use "overlay" to make my images blend in more to the collage as a put new images. A layer mask removes part of an image so you can see the layer behind it. I masked parts of my portrait to just have myself and not the background of it.
3. How does your college represent your identity? What specific images did you use and what do they represent about you?
This college represents me as a person by adding things that symbolize who I am as a person and things I enjoy. My background, I have always lived near the ocean. I added hydrangeas to represent the gratitude I have for my family and friends. I chose to add whales because they symbolize compassion. I also added jellyfish to represent simplicity.
4. What was successful in your project? What was unsuccessful and what would you do differently next time to solve this problem?
I was able to successfully add images that represent me. I was unsuccessful in finding the correct placement on my images on the first few times. I moved my images around a lot until I thought they all look well blended. next time I would brainstorm and find examples.
5. Based on the learning target, "Create a multimedia Collage that is an abstract visual representation of symbols that reveal external appearance as well as internal truths about your identity in relation to society by using Photoshop tools such as blend modes, layer masks, adjustment layers, and selection tools. " what level of mastery does your project demonstrate (Exceeds, Meets, Needs Work, minimal understanding). Why do you think? Make sure to provide specific evidence.
If I gave myself a level of mastery I would give myself an Exceed. I was able to reuse skills that I used in a previous project from last year to create this project.
